What should I wear?

While clothes can make or break a photo, it all depends on the image you want to project. Some basic ideas include choosing clothing that fits well and that both flatters and allows for ease of movement. Don’t be afraid of color and texture, but avoid busy prints. Family photos usually work better if the look is more of a blend than an exact match by picking a key color that can be added with individual flair by each member. Your hair and makeup should be looks you have tried out before and should be done when you arrive unless makeup enhancement has been previously arranged. Makeup is slightly exaggerated for photography but not excessively. We encourage individual sessions to bring several outfits to choose from, and we have even had families change shirts midway. Just realize we won’t get to everything if you have packed a suitcase. If we are on location, bring shoes you can walk in even if you stop and put on stilettos for the pose. Brides can usually change on site inside a screen.

Can I bring a friend?

We’re happy to have you bring along a friend or family member. In fact, having someone with you for bridal portraits makes everything run more smoothly. Anyone you bring should respect the process and not try to use a camera or phone to record every pose as we go. If bringing a guest to a boudoir session, be sure you are both comfortable with varying stages of dress.

I have specific poses in mind

We want you to love your photos and your session, so please, let us know about any ideas that you have! We will have looked at some ideas for inspiration and are happy to incorporate yours as well. Of course every image is unique because of lighting, location, and even wardrobe choices, so the basic idea can be there while still making your photos uniquely yours.

What’s your travel cost?

Travel within the DFW area is free. If there are entry or photography fees for an area, those will be covered by the client. However, many times an alternative can be found to offer a similar look. We know of places all around town to get the vibe you are after. Requests for travel out of area can be worked into a custom package.

The base fee is due at the time of the session for location portraits. Boudoir or studio sessions require a 50% non-refundable deposit with the balance due at the session.  Additional products should be paid for at the time of the order. Wedding photography requires a 30% deposit to reserve your date with the balance due by two weeks prior to the wedding. Payment plans are available as are gift contributions from family and friends applied to your balance. We accept cash, checks, and credit through Square credit processing. Online billing and payment through Paypal are available. Any deposit may be applied to a future session in the event of cancellation.

What if it rains?

We will do everything possible to keep an appointment. Usually we can work around both rain and Texas heat. Occasionally, we may have to tweak the location, but we have rarely had to reschedule completely. Of course for a wedding, we’ll be there regardless of what Texas weather may throw at us.
